So a week ago two (Syafika Nabila and Nadia Jamaluddin) from
my best friends decided to come and have a sleepover at my home -God I miss
them cause we’ve basically haven’t seen each other since the SPM results came
out.
Went shopping and found this DIY cake baking and really, I
thought it’ll be fun doing some activities with them and cherish our very
little time together.
As a blogger who loves to share some stuff I do, it’s kinda
awkward to be snapping pictures during the process in front of them, but well,
they didn’t mind haha.
P.S: Sorry for the poor lighting as well as finding us
wearing pyjamas. We baked around 11.30 pm near to midnight. Friendship goals.
So here are the steps.
Step 1: If this is your first try, Accept Whatever Your Cake Will Look in the End
Have fun. Don’t bother to have it being made perfectly.
Besides, if it’s a friendship cake, your time doing it together with your
besties matter most here, even if it ends up a disaster.
Step 2: Prepare the Ingredients
and Baking Appliances
Ingredients
1.
3 fresh raw eggs.
2.
Organic oil.
3.
Pillsbury’s cake mix.
4.
Plain water.
5.
Caramel Syrup (Additional Topping).
6.
Vanilla Ice-cream (Additional Topping).
Baking Tools
1.                                   A measuring cup.
2.                                   Round baking pan (8-9 inches).
3.                                  Tilt-Head stand mixer.
4.                                 Oven.
5.                                 A pair of baking gloves.
Step 3: Add Cake Mix
into the Bowl
Carefully add all of the cake mix into the bowl of your
tilt-head stand mixer. You can also pour it onto an empty bowl and mix them
natural, but well, too lazy to do that.
Step 4: Crack up the
Eggs and Pour Half a Cup of Oil
Just make sure you don't leave even an egg crack into the bowl like I did. Haha.
Step 5: Add the Egg
Mix into the Bowl
The girls said it’s compulsory to have it being made sticky
first before deciding to have it being stirred cake mix alone. So, in goes the
egg mix first.
Step 6: Use the Mixer under Low Speed and Add Oil
Low speed means within 30 seconds and while mixing, add on
the half cup of oil which was earlier prepared.
Step 7: Add a Cup of Water into the Mixer
Step 8: Change to Medium Speed for 2 Minutes
You'll get this soft moisture in the end. (Smells like play-dough, but tastes like that choki-choki stick)
Step 9: Pour it into the Baking Pan
Syarky is responsible for the mix transfer obviously. I was too sleepy to bake actually, but she managed to freshen up with positive vibes.
Step 10: Heaten Up the Oven under 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
It could be made done before you even do the steps above but as a beginner, normally it's safer to do it slowly.
Step 11: Place the Pan into the Oven and Bake for 45 minutes
It depends on how big your pan size is, but for mine (round 8-9 inches), 45 minutes is enough. Plus, it's super hot so make sure you're all on gloves.
Step 12: Take Out and Leave it to Cool for 20 minutes
See those cracks? I call them earthquake. Haha me and my crazy thoughts.
Step 13: Use a Stick to See if It's Fully Baked
Though I'd say that, I recommend that if the sides of your cake is perfectly baked, leaving the center core still in a rather liquid form, leave it. Trust me, if you cut the center's gonna be chocolate melt!
And if you prefer having it cold, it'll taste like raw chocolate. But heating it to make it melt is better really. Especially if you don't intend to make any icing -too lazy to do it as well.
Step 14: Eat and Enjoy by Adding Your Topping Choices
Depends on you. But if you're eager of eating like we did, while it's still hot, vanilla ice-cream and caramel syrup is recommended.
Sorry on not taking it on a better angle with the ice-cream. We were too excited on tasting it.
And yes, it tasted great. I swear. :)
