"How can we know Allah exists?"
"Why is it compulsory to follow Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) guide?"
"Why should Islam be known as the true religion?"
If you were born muslim from Malaysia, try asking these kinda questions to the ustazs or any whom you'd know the person sees you as a muslim. They'd get choked and would lecture you on being too curious regarding to your own religion until you ought to look like you don't really believe in Islam. Reality, yes?
They say, 'Just follow what we do and have no further questions as these dwindling in your mind. A muslim shouldn't argue or ask too much regarding to what Allah has claimed us to do'. I do not tend to argue anything about His will but why do you say it is wrong to discover Islam with curious minds? Oh, I get it, because I was born as a muslim? Only a muallaf ' can ask questions we, too, have been wanting to know? Why do people keep saying it as a sign we are not believing in Him? We have rights to know. We may be blindly following what we've been taught -which is also good because otherwise we'll never know how Islam is like. But I don't see the point on not letting us know the answers to the questions we've fond to know.
I don't know either anyone would feel this way as well but now I cannot describe myself to either be a true muslim or just by name. There was a time Ustaz Annas told us even if we pray and worship to him without hesitation depending to the current environment itself and change once we are in another situation, we are considered as a munafik' khafi'. (Those who knows the right of Islam and yet doesn't consistently act or acting). Yes, even if we really didn't pretend doing our worshiping but yet there are times we tend to take it lightly.
We wouldn't want to be labelled as a munafik do we? Though we have countless sins we still have that ignition of Islam nestled in our hearts. No worth of being called that way. It's similar to being thrown to the lowest gates of Hell during afterlife for not completely or just pretending to follow Allah's instructions. We make mistakes, which is somehow natural. My point? The only way on leading yourself to be a true muslim is by having a curious mind. There's a difference between being curious with questioning Allah's will. Notify yourself on that please.
However, when we urge ourselves to seek answers, always search from the right source and set our mind on not being too desperate or disappointed with the answers given by another individual. Remember, there are some answers left to be unexplained by Allah. If we sense it'll make us more confused then stick to your daily routine. As for teenagers who are indeed lack of knowledge on Islam itself, don't even think much about learning other religions beliefs before fully understand Islam. It can either mislead us as well. :)
Waallahualam.
